This lyric chamber opera takes its cue from the great cold wave that hit all of Italy in the winter of 1929 and even froze the Arno. It is while walking on the Arno that Giulia, a university student, meets the carpenter Antonio: love is born, opposed by the noble Riccardo, Giulia's betrothed, who will do everything to hinder the wedding between the two young people.
